In partnership with SAB Miller India, BCT has been conducting awareness & counseling programs for curtailing the spread of HIV/AIDS among the contract employees of Mysore Breweries Ltd (MBL) and the trucker’s population within and outside of MBL and Charminar Breweries Ltd (CBL) premises through targeted intervention.
This year, through Mid media activities such as street plays, film shows, health exhibitions, health, games, etc., enabled us to reach out 20000+ truckers & contract employees. 15 STI infected treated, 295 truckers referred at ICTC for HIV Test. Reported 03 cases of HIV+ and they were linked to pre Anti-Retroviral Therapy.
Clinical services were given to the targeted population on a regular basis and distributed 8000+ free condoms by organizing health camps and through social marketing events.
